Continuing our offering of exceptional Ethiopian coffees, we bring you the Bookkisa from the Oromia region, Ethiopia. This coffee has been named after the settlement of 33 farmers who have each played an invaluable role to produce this sublime coffee.
KING OF GUJI
As with many of Ethiopias finest coffees it has been sourced from the famed Guji zone highlands. Whereby the farms have been trained to use specialist practices under the supervision of the King of Guji, Ture Waji. The Bookkisa in particular was harvested from the fertile red lands of clay and loam unique to the region 2000-2100 masl.
Can you taste it?
Naturally processed the coffee cherries are dried whole resulting in a unique berry funk flavour. True to the region the Bookkisa showcases trademark Guji berry flavours of blueberry, alongside a sweetness of maple syrup and body of banana. Rich and fruity indeed.
Our recommendation
African coffees are known for their brightness and extremely fruity nature. We recommend trying this coffee black to accentuate this, whether on filter or espresso. Of course if your prefer coffee with milk it still taste great, so each to their own.
We recommend consuming this coffee between weeks 2 to 4 after its roast date, but of course, try it before or after too.
